This is my undergraduate senior recital at Manhattan School of Music. I'm really proud of it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Week is a 3 movement orchestral monodrama based on the first two chapters of Genesis.
hush is a two-song cycle for SATB choir comprised of the lullabies "Hush, Little Baby" and "Hush-a-bye, Baby".  One may not realize based on only hearing the composition, but as a composer the idea of memory and how we remember our childhood was important to my creative process.
The form of Don't Wash Your Hands is like driving a truck. First the engine turns over and then you go.
While workshopping this piece with Alexander Howard, he mentioned that a certain passage was difficult to play cleanly. I told him "Don't worry about it. Just don't wash your hands."
Taps and Shoves: Sakura Park at Midnight is a composition based on Taps by General Butterfield.
Tired - Song is the first track of my debut EP, Internal Voices. This song was written at 2 A.M. in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Needless to say, it is a reflection of all sorts of “tired.”
In 2021, Jacob won a commission from The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America, to write his composition, Fractured Chronology, for Claire Janezic, based on the idea of clock time (as opposed to duration).
This audio from the compositions premiere was recorded outside during a picnic concert. I think the ambient environmental noises make this recording special.
Joint Construct (for Electric Bass and Looper) is a beautifully blossoming composition.
Internal Voices is a collection of songs composed and performed from Fall 2020 through Fall 2021 during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The isolation led to me writing a lot for my own voice, though I was also very fortunate to find collaborators along the way including the wonderful Madison Fitzpatrick.
Club Love is a song about going to the club to find my soulmate. In the moment it sounded like a great idea :)
Kitchenware is written for Bass Drum, Drum Set, Steel Pan, and 2 Soprano Saxophones.
